Young Kiwis were challenged to create fashion or wearable art entirely from recycled materials, and around 120 have been chosen as finalists in the Schools’ Trash to Fashion Finalist Showcase.

It's been running for 17 years and the theme this year is Celebrate Individuality, letting them explore how they see themselves, what makes them unique and their diversity.

The finalists are showcasing their entries on Saturday 24 August, Corban Estate Arts Centre, 426 Great North Road, Auckland. There are two catwalk events, one at 3pm and one at 7pm. You can vote for the People's Choice Clutched Competition, so get there early enough to view the display of bags made from recycled materials, choose your favourite and cast your vote.
