Make a jewellery hanger
Lennox Woodcraft
One for the girls! There is nothing worse than a muddle of your favourite necklaces and earrings on the dresser. This is a very simple project that will tidy up your jewellery department, keep your treasures visible so you don’t lose track of old faves, and look stylish at the same time. And with minimal materials and tools needed you can have it whipped up within an hour.
You’ll need
- An old picture frame, window frame or cupboard door (with glass and / or door panel removed). Try your local junkyard – the more rustic-looking the better
- Chicken wire or mesh
- Wire cutters
- Measuring tape
- Staple gun and staples
- Some cute mini pegs. You can pick up packs of 50 for about $3 at The Warehouse, or online.
Step-by-step
Step 1
Measure the height and width of the inside frame.
Step 2
Cut your wire/mesh to the frame size.
Step 3
Place your mesh on to the back of the frame and staple it securely in place.
Step 4
Turn your hanger around and hang up your jewellery! Your hanger can now be propped on your dressing table, leant against the wall or even hung on the wardrobe door.
If you love this idea but can’t see yourself whipping out the tools and making it, we are happy to take orders and make it for you. Contact us at [email protected] or visit our website www.lennoxwoodcraft.co.nz for more details.
