Can you spot the helmet?
Love the feeling of the wind in your hair as you cycle helmet-free? No? Good – because that’s illegal in this country.

That’s a bit of shame though, because let’s be honest, a lot more people would take up cycling – and cycling is, like, heaps better for the planet – if it didn’t make you all hot and sweaty and give you awful helmet hair.

Well, hope is at hand thanks to two awesome Swedish women, Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin. The pair have invented an invisible cycle helmet, and the idea has attracted millions in funding, so expect to see one – or rather, not see one – soon.

Essentially, the ‘helmet’ is a collar with a shaped airbag inside that inflates when it senses you’re in a crash. The basic idea is that the more pleasant and fashionable cycling can be, the more people will take it up as their regular form of transport – and this is certainly cooler than wearing a Stackhat. Plus it works well too. But don’t take our word for it – check out the video here: www.hovding.com/en
