Giving jeans a new life

Trousers warm houses in recycling programme.
Did you know that your old favourite pair of jeans can have a second life as insulation?
A group in the US, called Blue Jeans Go Green, has so far recycled over 1.1 million denim items into insulation, which is then installed in civic buildings and new homes in areas that need it most.
That’s even more impressive than using your old jeans as cleaning rags: to date, the programme has diverted more than 600 tonnes of material from landfill.
