One of the largest solar power plants in the world has been unveiled and is providing enough eco-friendly electricity to power 140,000 homes.

The Ivanpah plant in California’s Mojave Desert uses over 300,000 mirrors the size of garage doors to reflect sunlight on to water towers taller than the Statue of Liberty. The intense heat boils the water, with the steam then generating power by spinning turbines.
