Ideas to live a more sustainable life are worth sharing. Taking better care of our planet with practical steps that can be taken every day is a community effort. That's why Green Ideas created a website our readers can participate in.

Go on, we’d love you to share your thoughts, news, links, blogs and photos to help us all live more sustainably.

Here’s how…

1. Register and a log onto the Green Ideas website. The link to do this can be found in the green header at the top of every page.

2. Click on the “Have your say” button which is also in the top green header of every page, above the search bar.

3. Give your post a catchy title and fill in the content of the post in the field that says “Enter text here”. You won’t get a chance to edit this post later, so make sure you proofread it.

4. Next, choose which section of the website you’d like your post to sit under. You can choose from the list by clicking the green triangle in the "Section" field. Then, in the same way, pick a subsection that relates to the section you chose. Finally, add some tags to make it easier to find your post by subject and to help people see what your post is about at a glance.

5. You can upload an image to illustrate your post – just make sure it’s yours to publish. Simply click "upload" and choose the image from where it’s saved on your computer.

6. If you’d like to share a YouTube video with us you can. Just copy the YouTube share ID from below the video on YouTube. The bit you’ll need is the letter and number code after the “http://youtu.be/”

7. Paste the YouTube share ID into the “Video” field back on the Green Ideas website.

8. Hit the submit button. You should be redirected to the section your post is in, so you can view it right away.
