Okay, so two massive chemical companies – Bayer CropScience and Syngenta – have just brought a lawsuit against The European Commission, because – get this – the commission (after doing a proper investigation into why bees are dying by the millions) sensibly announced a two-year ban on neonicotinoid pesticides. Bayer and Syngenta are fighting to overturn the ban (because they make millions selling neonicotinoids) – whoops, we mean because in their words the ban “distracts attention away from the real issues surrounding poor bee health”.
