I live on an island, offshore, no power, seldom-used generator, small amount of solar power and LPG cooking. I bought a Sunflair Solar Cooker from ebrightenergy.co.nz and in my first two weeks of using the Sunflair last summer I made four breads, tray choc chip cookies, two small lots roast potatoes, choc-2-choc brownie slices, two dutch spice loaves, and we haven't even really spent much time seriously with it.
Construction of a solar cooker / dehydrator is on the to-do list here but really, the Sunflair is going perfectly.
I'm interested to try the dehydrating and water-heating capabilities as well.
I have been recommending to all my friends and whanau to get one of these; everybody should get into solar cooking and off-grid living.
I have some pictures loaded at merkythecat.imgur.com/all/
It’s a wonderful off-grid item and the extra satisfaction of having used the sun is a buzz!
