Cloth nappies... what is wrong with granny squares?Reader submitted

I was disappointed with your article on nappies in your first edition of Green Ideas. As with almost all other similar articles, the good old cloth squares that 99% of mothers used were left out.I had three children 20 years ago and used cloth squares for all of them, then had another daughter seven years ago. For $50 for a dozen nappies, three pairs of 'fluffies' for the outer nap, a big bucket and some soap to soak them, my fourth child was successfully nappied and kept clean and dry for the two years she was in them. They dry quickly on the line and not once did I stab my babies with the nappy pin!!!! Just to note also that all of my children were out of nappies by two years of age, which I also contribute to cloth nappies because they can feel when they are wet or messed. They are by far the cheapest, easiest and eco-friendly nappy solution.... sad you ignored this option!
